New-Year Objective of Chairman Chang-Hai Tsai at China Medical University and Healthcare System: Launching the AI Research Center to Lead the New Era of Information and Communication Technology

Reaching the year end, China Medical University and Healthcare System held a Year-End Party on January 14, 2018. In this event, Chairman Tsai praised President Wen-Hwa Lee for his leadership and the devotion of all China Medical University members in making steady advances. Looking forward to the New Year, Chair Tsai expressed his sincere expectation for China Medical University, Healthcare System and Asia University to collaborate in establishing and developing the AI Research Center to drive the future trend by leading the new era of artificial intelligence.


Pioneer in the Field of Genetic Suppression of Cancer Growth ~ President Wen-Hwa Lee Has Been Elected to be an Academician of the World Academy of Sciences

President Wen-Hwa Lee of China Medical University, a world-renowned investigator on cancer biology, has committed his research to genetic mechanisms of cancer suppressor genes with outstanding contributions in the field for health promotion and for advancing cancer prevention and therapy to receive the distinguished honor of being endowed as a new Academician in the 28th World Academy of Sciences Convention held on 28th Nov 29, 2018 in Italy where President Lee received his Academician certificate. This is an event of honor for Taiwan and a pride for China Medical University which was cheerfully celebrated by students and faculty.


Opening of 2018 Taiwan Healthcare Technology Expo ~ China Medical University and Healthcare System Displayed Topnotch Biotech Achievements with Bright Spots

「2018 Taiwan Healthcare Technology Expo」opened on November 29 at Nangang Exhibition Hall. President Ing-Wen Tsai of Taiwan, Chairman Chang-Hai Tsai of China Medical University and Healthcare System and leaders in biotech industry jointly chaired the opening ceremony. China Medical University Hospital presented the main theme on「Launching the New Era of Cell Therapies – Advancing to Great Future of Artificial Intelligence」to display the strengths and advantages of cultivating academic research and developing topnotch biotech, AI medicine, health promotion with education of healthcare talents for fruitful achievements.


China Medical University and Mahidol University in Thailand Held Bilateral Colloquium with Plentiful Accomplishments

Praised President Wen-Hwa Lee of China Medical University and President Banchong Mahaisavarival of Mahidol University had a cheerful gathering. The two universities held the Second CMU-MU Joint Symposium, focusing on precision medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, neuroscience (pain syndromes), pharmacy and public health to conduct research driven by these main themes and to develop joint research projects with high productivity.


The English Edition of “Experimental Acupuncture” with Chair Prof. Jaw-Gung Lin as the Editor-in-Chief was published by world renowned publisher, Springer Nature

Chair Prof. Jaw-Gung Lin, a world-class acupuncture legend has received courteous invitation by a world renowned publisher, Springer Nature, to be the Editor-in-Chief for the publication of “Experimental Acupuncture”. This instrumental book has taken the collective expertise and experiences of 14 scholars from Taiwan and other countries for 5 years to complete the task. This book will be published worldwide for clinical applications and teaching to advance the international stature of Taiwan in acupuncture research.


Pioneering Exploration of Novel Medical Devices for Neuroregeneration ~ 3D Printing Development Center for Medical Therapeutics at the United University of China Medical University and Asia University Received the 15th National Innovation Award

The 3D Printing Development Center for Medical Therapeutics at the United University of China Medical University and Asia University developed an innovative medical device featuring “3D cell clusters for novel printable neuronal conduction tubules” under the leadership of Director Ming-Yo Hsieh to lay the foundation for medical device-mediated neuronal regeneration. This pioneer research achievement was honored with the 15th National Innovation Award which was delivered by Director General Chyou-Huey Chiou, Department of Academia-Industry Collaboration and Science Park Affairs, Ministry of Science and Technology, on the evening of November 30, 2018.


Exploring Opioid Derivatives to Develop Therapeutics for Drug Additions ̴ Prof. Chia-Hung Hsieh at China Medical University Received the 15th National Innovation Award

The Taiwan society is in high demand for therapeutics to treat drug addicts. Prof. Chia-Hung Hsieh’s team at the Graduate Institute of Biomedical Sciences, China Medical University, has discovered that mice with Scla711 gene deletion do not develop drug addiction, providing the genetic mechanism for exploring new drugs for target therapy. Clinical trial results have confirmed animal findings to develop preventive and therapeutic measures for solving addiction to benefit those who suffer from drug abuse. This novel finding has received the 15th National Innovation Award and was delivered by Director General Chyou-Huey Chiou, Department of Academia-Industry Collaboration and Science Park Affairs, Ministry of Science and Technology, on November 30, 2018.

Ever Young BioDimension, a start-up company springing off from China Medical University, applied pioneering 3D healthcare technology to serve a wide population has promising market potential. Ever Young BioDimension received the 15th National Innovation Award which was delivered by President San-Cheng Chang of Institute of Biotechnology and Medicine Industry to Chief Operating Officer Sheng-Chang Chen of China Medical University on November 30, 2018.


Award Ceremony for China Medical University and Asia University 「U21 Competition for Innovation Award」

China Medical University and Asia University jointly sponsored University「U21 Competition for Innovation」. A total of 203 applications were received. Nine applications were submitted from China Medical University. After expert review, one of the applications, entitled “Lighting up love in your life” received an Award. Another application “Easy Cover” entered the final round of competition with honorable mention. President Wen-Hwa Lee awarded the winning certificates and monetary prizes in the University Executive Meeting on January 16, 2019.
